The Topography Hillshade is a printable report available to Surety® and Surety® Pro subscribers. The report will display the Topography Hillshade layer and contour lines of a selected area.

Begin by locating and selecting or drawing an area of interest. (See also:Select Tool & Drawing)

Click on the Topography Hillshade option in the right panel.

The Topography Hillshade Report will generate in a new tab or window.

The Hillshade color and the vertical exaggeration can be adjusted back on the mapping interface within the Hillshade Topography layer properties. (See: Hillshade Topography Layer)

The color scale on the report is a guide indicating which colors represent the low to high elevation changes. The report will also list certain details about the selected area:
  • Source topo dataset
  • the contour intervals (ft)
  • Minimum Elevation
  • Maximum Elevation
  • Elevation Range
  • Average Elevation
  • Standard Deviation or elevation difference

The contour interval can be adjusted right on the form by typing in a desired number and clicking Update Interval to refresh the map.
