Contour Topo Lines Layer

Contour lines are lines joining points of equal elevation on a surface.

The Contour Lines data layer is available within both Surety® and Surety® Pro subscriptions.

Enable the Contour Topo Line layer
Zoom to the desired map view. Note that by default the contour lines will not appear above a scale of 30,000 (~4 mile diameter view) but this can be changed if needed.

Then click on Layers in the right panel.

Find the Contour Topo Lines layer located beneath the Log Layers option and click on the white box to enable the layer.

The map will display cyan colored lines with elevation markings indicating the changes in elevation based on the current map scale and interval settings.

Adjust Contour Topo Lines
The intervals between the contour lines are able to be modified by opening the layer properties page. This is done by clicking on the "Contour Topo Lines" link within the Layers panel.

The Layer properties displays a grid allowing the Min Scale, Max Scale, and Interval (feet) to be adjusted. The page will also show the current map scale for a reference.

Change the interval to increase or decrease the number of contour lines that appear on the map or change the scale to customize when they appear.

Generate a Topography Contours Map from the Map/Form list to print the data.

Contour lines can also be added to some other map templates such as the FSA Map by setting the Update Interval box to a value greater than 0.
