FEMA Availability Layer

With the FEMA availability layer, you can easily determine which US counties contain FEMA information.

First click on Layers, then expand the Other category and then check FEMA Availability.


Once enabled the map will be overlain with a red color in areas that contain available FEMA Flood Zones.


How to create a Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) when there is no digital FEMA information available.

In areas without digitized FEMA maps available, you can still use Surety to quickly gather your Longitude and Latitude coordinates to quickly find the original scanned FIRM maps on https://msc.FEMA.gov/portal/home . Check out the video demonstration of this process.
