The
Crop Summary Map
is a map template that will display a legend containing data based off of saved Crop Assignments records. Since it relies on the ability to save the Crop Assignment records, this map will only work within Surety Pro accounts.
Crop Summary Map Example
Enable the Crop Assignments and Crop Summary Map from the Favorites panel
After selecting a client, click on the Favorites link within the map/form list.
Expand the My Maps/Forms section and enable the Crop Summary Map and the Crop Assignments layer.
Assign crop types to fields & color them
With the forms now in the favorites list, locate and either select or draw a field boundary and select the Crop Assignment link.
It is recommended to select saved borders from the borders layer since the FarmName and FieldId attributes will automatically be filled in on the Crop Assignment form.
Select a crop type. If you need to add crops to the crop list, click on the pencil icon to access the list editor. When done filling out at least the Crop type, Click Save.
Repeat this process to add all of the desired crop records to the map for this client.
To assign different colors to different crops, click the Layers button and then find the Crop Assignments layer and click on the blue link to access the layer properties.
Click on the Symbology tab, make sure that CropName is selected in the Or Color By selection then click the pencil icon.
Click each square to assign a color to each crop. Once all are assigned, close out of the list and Save the Layer Properties.
The mapped boundaries will update with the assigned colors.
Generate A Crop Summary Map
Now use the Select tool to select all records to be included within the Crop Summary Map.
Hint: Left Click and Drag a box around all of the fields using the select tool to multi-select all of the fields at once.
Select "Top Form" from the drop-down to select all records within the bounds for that layer.
Tip:
If there are records that are selected that you don't want, either individually remove the x's or ensure the only Form layer enabled is the Crop Assignment layer within the layers panel and attempt the drag-select again.
Click on
Crop Summary Map
in the right panel.
The map will generate and the legend will display all of the crop types as well as the total acres for each.
