Crop Year

The "Crop Year" is a categorization tool used within Surety Pro accounts to separate saved data from one year to the next. This data includes forms, polygon borders, as well as custom point and line layers. Each client record has their own set of crop years.

Saved data can be copied or moved from one year to the next using some of the different tools within Surety Pro.

First let's take a look at where a crop year is designated.

Define a crop year to a client record

After logging into Surety Pro, the client select panel will be to the right of the map.

Select a client (add one with the Edit Clients link if none exist)

The current year will populate no matter if this is a new client record or if it is a client that has existing data saved in a previous year. If nothing else is chosen, the map will refresh and this record will be opened and ready to start mapping in.

To change the crop year, either retype the year manually if it has never had anything saved to it or select it from the drop-down.

Now any border or form saved, will be filed in the currently shown year.

Copy one years borders into a new year. (Roll Borders)

A Roll Borders link will appear if border and/or form records exist in a different year for this client.

Note: if the Roll Borders link contains an asterisk (*) Image, it means that this Year has already been Rolled at least once.

When clicked, a new window appears asking to enter the year that you would like to copy borders FROM. All previous years that contain saved borders or forms will appear in the From Crop Year drop-down.

Select a year from the list to copy that year's saved borders to the currently selected year.

Include Borders from Saved Forms

You may also choose to include form borders from saved forms with the check box. This will add any saved form borders that do not have an underlying boundary saved to the borders layer already. Note: this does not include Sensitive Areas saved data but does include Surrounding Crop data.

Roll Borders for all Clients at once

If you are planning on rolling borders for all of your clients, then check the Roll Borders for all Clients option. The program will determine which clients have data in the "From Year" and only roll that data into the selected Crop Year for those clients.
Note: It is not possible to include saved forms and roll all client borders at the same time.

Click Yes.

Once Roll Borders has been clicked, a confirmation message will appear stating how many borders have been rolled from the borders layer and the reports layer (if you only rolled for the one client).

If you chose to roll borders for all clients, a message will display stating which clients borders were rolled.
