Browser extensions are a subset of browser plugins.  Browser extensions modify the behavior an existing functionality.

Furthermore, they can lead to instability or data loss. Additionally, Browser extensions that can be malicious and download files and much more unbeknownst to you!

In Surety or Surety Pro customized online mapping, if you ever encounter "live links" if you will, then you most likely have an extension. You can experience oddities in the program itself or when you generate maps and reports.

Moreover, browser extensions  can cause weird anomalies in Surety like losing software functionality ie if you click on the Search button in the right hand panel and nothing is there.

See example below where an add-on is causing advertising to pop up within Surety.

If you are experiencing issues with rogue extensions then please do the following: 

1. Consult your IT department

2. Disable/Remove browser Extensions/Add-Ons & clear Cache and Cookies

3. Uninstall Malicious software
