According to FEMA.gov, the definition of Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) is "The official map of a community in which FEMA has delineated both the social hazard areas and the risk premium zones applicable to the community."
FEMA (1/8/2013). Floodplain Management. Retrieved from

In other words, it is a way to look up the areas reference number to determine whether or not the area is in a flood zone and what the flood insurance rate would be in that area.
According to FEMA's definition of a FIRMette, (see
FEMA's Map Service Center website
for full definition) Surety's FEMA FIRM panels would be considered one.
After logging into Surety, click on the layers button to bring up the layers options.
Click the plus button next to FEMA
Click to check the box next to FEMA FIRM Panels
If you are zoomed in to a closer view on the map, you will find that the map will now have red panels with information within each panel. These are the FIRM panels. It will give the panel reference number and the effective Date.
