Text Area is a control item that you can place on the canvas of the Forms Designer.
The Text Area works very similar to the Text Box Tool except it can allow up to 900 characters of text to be entered in a paragraph format.

An example use of a Text Area in an existing form would be a Notes section.

How to add a Text Area to a custom form.

After opening a new or existing form template in the Form Designer, you can find the Text Area placement option in the left control type panel.

Click on the Text Area button to activate that tool.

Left click on the designer canvas wherever you would like to place it.

Once placed, it contains the same editable properties as the Text Box Tool.

The main difference is that you can make it larger so that multiple lines of text can be placed within it. (up to 900 characters)

Re-sizing can be done by selecting the text area by left clicking on it to highlight it in yellow.

Special Circumstances:

Line Break

If entering formulas within the Text Area and the desire is to have certain Text appear on a new line within the text area, then a triple return(enter key) is required within the quotations portion of the formula.

Example code:
="The area of your field is:
(1)
(2)
(3)" + @mapAcres

Notice that the 3 returns were within the quoted text.

Example Result:
The area of your field is:
45.58
